Spanish Class.

Today I have Spanish class and my cousins are coming over for three days.  My cousins' names are Emmet and Kai.  Emmett is 5 and I think Kai is 3.  They're fun to play with, if they are not roughhousing.  My Spanish teacher comes from 3:00 to 5:00.  We call her Alexis or Alexandra.  She works at a Spanish school in Canby.  We almost went there, but we didn't.

Dragon

"Bad, bad boy!" I yelled.   My dragon, Smith was NOT getting into his cage.  It's important that he does, because an interviewer was going to interview me about my unusual dragon.  Not many settlers in Portland had dragons.  When I finally got Smith into his cage, the interviewer had just arrived.  "Channel 4, this is Nick Niccerson interviewing Smith, the unusual dragon we have here," Nick Niccerson said.  "And what is your name, miss?"
"Sophia," I answered.
"How old is your dragon?" Nick Niccerson asked.
"Uh….8 years, I think," I said.
"8 years!" exclaimed Nick Niccerson.  "8 years!  Let's see him!"
I let Smith out on his leash.  I held onto his leash tightly.  "Be careful," I warned Nick.  "He breathes fire."
"Whoa!" went Nick's microphone.  "How unusual!"
"It's unusual weather or not it's a dragon.  He would still breathe fire." I said.
"Well, yes, I suppose so," Nick said unsurely. I could tell he didn't believe me. "Well, Channel four is over!" said Nick Niccerson.  "Thank you, Miss Sophia."
I nodded. "My pleasure."  I was glad for him to leave.  He wasn't super entertaining, I thought.  Not at all.  I parked Smith into his cage and this time it was easier to put Smith in.  Thank goodness, I thought, locking Smith in.  And then I fed Smith and then ate some popcorn and sat watching Channel 4.  I saw myself on TV.  I wasn't surprised.  Of course not!

Tegan's Horse

I have a queen bed in my room.  My brother's room is the toy room.  I only have some toys in my room.  Now my room is usually cleaner than Caden's.  My room is pretty messy with toys.   I guess it's because I don't like cleaning.  I think it wastes time with playing with my friends in the neighborhood.  I like playing with Tegan, who is nine.  She is a state champion for her age (on a horse).  My dad wants to see her perform.  I do too.  It seems cool to me.  I think someday she will grow up and be really good at it.  I think she has like, a 15 foot horse, or something.  Tegan has long legs.  She has a barn where she keeps her horse.  I've never seen her horse.  Tegan's best friend is Kate.  It makes me mad. I don't know why.  I guess because I like Kate and Tegan, and I'm not best friends with either of them. They like each other.

Halloween superstore

Yesterday I went to the Halloween Superstore.  I got my costume there, and so did my brother.  My brother got a ninja costume.  I got a - well, I'm not going to tell.  When we went in a spider jumped at me.  I screamed.  It was terrifying.  And one fake person was eating an arm.  The store had creepy noises.  Some kids came out crying they were so scared.  My brother got a sword.  It went on his back. And it was two swords.  I got a sword too.  But I'm still not telling you my costume.  I'd be scared to tell.  It's not a girl costume, or at least not from the girl section.  I wanted to be matching with my brother.

Timbers

Yesterday I went to a Timbers game vs. the Sounders.  We met some friends at the game.  They had bought popcorn.  We watched the game.  It was fascinating.  At the second half, a Timbers guy scored a goal.  A person cut a piece of wood.  We got to feel it. Also at the second half we got Frosted Flakes. The Frosted Flakes were yummy.  "Thanks," I said to mom.  "Thanks," all of the other kids said.  We each got a little box.  The friends names' were Elliott and I don't remember the other name.  They just cute a piece of wood for fun.  It's part of how it works.  I think so, anyway.  At the end of the game, I texted my second cousin.  I texted, "Sounders won!  You're right!"

Playdate

Today I'm having a playdate with Madeline at my house.  I believe that Madeline is driving or walking with us.  Her mom is coming, I think.  I couldn't possibly be sure.  Of course I couldn't!  But I do know that it's at my house.  And that it is going to be fun.  I am sure because it's a playdate with Madeline. Not a sleepover.  It will be after school.  But it can't be long because I think I have soccer practice with Emma and Sydney, Tegan, Isabella, Aurorra, Ashley and Jaisie.  Only Ashley doesn't go to Lowrie.  She goes to Boekman.  Everyone else goes in Lowrie, just not in our class, only Emma and Sydney are in our class.  Not any of the

Stacey

"Class, this is Stacey McGill, and she is going to be in our class," My new teacher, Miss Carnie, said. "Not another!" this mean boy said, and his name was Shon B. "Shon Bolger!" Miss Carnie said in her strict voice. "Come up here right now!" "Y-yes miss Carnie," stammered Shon B. He slowly walked up to her desk. "You must apologize! Stacey may be new, but you don't have a right to say that, you may think it, but not blurt it! That was very rude," Miss Carnie's voice faded away. "Say you're sorry," she whispered. "No, Miss Carnie, he doesn't have to. I once did, and in front of twenty-four kids, it is embarasing and un-inportment," i said. "Well, you may say sorry, and go back to your seat. I shall change where you sit next to Stacey, so you aren't mean to her," Miss Carnie said. "Sorry, Stacey," Shon B. said. "Now, Shon, you must sit next to the open desk. Stacey, you sit at the open desk," Miss Carnie said. "But ma'am, i want to sit next to Brooklyn. I know her," i said. "Okay," miss Carnie said. "Brooklyn, go move to the two open desks. Stacey, go with her."As Broooklyn and I walked to the two open seats, I thought that how my parents' were divorced, and how sad it made me. But by then we had already reached the open desks. I took the one on the right.  At writing time, i wrote about when my dad left me. I wrote, "When i was little, my dad left me. He didn't even leave a picture of himself. it makes me sad to think about it. My momma is strict sometimes. I hardly remember, but i was closer to my dad. my mom made me leave New York city and forced me to go to skip a grade. She made me. i did not want to be in 5th grade. i had heard terrible remarks about Shon B. My dad ran off to California. Mom and i are living in Utah. I have only one sister. Her name is Elizabeth. She is in 7h grade. She will soon be going to collage. Then i will be lonely. Suddenly i wrote a note to Brooklyn about how my dad ran off to California. Brooklyn wrote back, "I understand. My mom did that." And then writing was over.We lined up for recess. I waited for Brooklyn on the swings. She ran right up to the swing i had saved for her and jumped on. "Hey," i said. "Yeah?" Brooklyn answered. "Uh...are your parents' divorced?" I asked. "Yes...but my dad married some other girl named Penny Pocket." Brooklyn hung her head. "Do you like Penny?" i asked. "No..at least not very much. She's strict. She doesn't let me drink coke," Brooklyn said.  "Oh. Hey, I'm really sad my dad left me. He didn't leave a thing of his own," i said. "Yeah, same with my mom. She only left a spoon she used worth 5 dollars," Brooklyn said. By now we were already high, high, high.  Brooklyn wanted to play a math game.  "You like math?" I asked.  "Why not?"  Brooklyn asked.  "It's fun, I mean, maybe you don't like math, but in 5th grade math is hard and I don't like being challenged but I'm used to it because school has already been going for, I don't know, a couple of months or something, and you are new here, so maybe you'll start to like math.  Because, like, the teachers force you to do it or they call the principal to come and watch you do your math.  They are really strict here so you have to do your math."
"Well, what kind of math game is it?"
"It's called Bingo math."
"How do you play?"
"So, I think of two numbers, you have to add them or you have to multiply them and then if you get five things in a row without getting them wrong, you get a bingo and then, um, if you get ten right, you get a blackout.  Blackouts are best because you fill the whole chart."  But then the recess bell rang. So we lined up, went inside and Miss Carnie said, "we're gonna have some more writing time.  I understand that Stacey likes to write.  She is still writing a story."
"How do you know?'  I asked Miss Carnie
"I come around and looked at peoples' work every Friday.  On all the other week days I call it 'Journal Write' - you have to write in your journal.  I don't come around and look at your journal because you share it with the class."  Miss Carnie said.
"Okay, so Friday free write and all the other days are journal write?' I asked. "Yes. Next monday, you will start a new story, write, and make it into a book about your life. It has to have a title, at least twenty  pages, and and end. It has to have 5,000 words. I know that might seem like a lot, but we type the story on a computer. It is easier," Miss Carnie said. "I get it," i said. And believe me, I did understand. "We're going to start writing now, class," Miss Carnie said. I read my story. When i was little, my dad left me. He didn't even leave a picture of  himself. It makes me sad to think about. She is in 7th grade. She will soon be in collage. Then i will be lonely. Then I wrote, I really don't want to be lonely. Before i even knew Elizabeth was part of the family, and after dad had left, I had felt lonely. My mom was not a big joy when i was five. Then i noticed that Elizabeth was always home at 2:10. In my mind, she suddenly became part of the family. She was fun to play with. After i was done homeschooling, i would run to the door and wait for Elizabeth. I would watch out the window when the yellow school bus flashed before my eyes, i would run outside, wave at Elizabeth and jump. When we had to pick up Elizabeth from school, i would jump around excitedly.  Elizabeth was the one i trusted the most. I didn't trust mom very much. i don't know why. Probably because dad had left us and i blamed mom. I was home schooled until 3rd grade  when mom made me skip 4th grade. I did not want to. I was forced to. But, as usual, it was a no, you may not be in 4th grade. my mom thinks I'm super smart, but i'm not so smart. But i do get to sit next to Brooklyn Crystal in class. Then we had math test. i got two answers wrong, and there was thirty questions. It was one of those one-minute pages. "Who knows how to spell contagious or necessary?" Miss Carnie asked. I raised my hand. "Stacey?" Miss Carnie said. "You want to try?" "Yes," I said quickly. "Contagious. C-o-n-t-a-g-i-o-u-s. Necessary. N-e-c-e-s-s-a-r-y." "Right," Miss Carnie said. "I know it is early, but we are going to have a spelling test and then lunch." A little while later, when we were seated and had a paper and pencil, Miss Carnie gave us spelling words. "Number one," she said. "Process." We all wrote "Process." "Number two. Opportunity." We scribbled that down. "Three. Succumb,"Miss Carnie said. We wrote that. "Four. Combustible. Five. Inquisitive," Miss Carnie said.  "That's all for today." Miss Carnie collected our papers and said, "For the next thirty minutes, we will have lunch. I will dismiss people who look ready." She called out some names and then said quietly, "I will play my trumpet." "Yeah!" everybody yelled. I was getting school lunch. It was taco tuesday. I get school lunch. Brooklyn calls it hot lunch and home lunch cold lunch. Today i got a taco with chess and meat, with chocolate milk and some watermelon. Brooklyn gets cold lunch. Today i saw she got a P-B and J sandwich and banana a nut bar. Nobody in my class that i know of has allergies. Only Cammie. She is very rude. Once i played with her, and she yelled in my ear that she had an allergy and i told her that i already knew, and then she screamed at me again. My mom almost made me have a playdate with her until i was repeating over and over again that she yells in my face. Then mom agreed to not make a playdate with Cammie. "Brooklyn!" I said. "What?" she said. "Can you talk in the classroom at lunch or snack?" i asked. "Sure," Brooklyn said. "Why?" "Because in my homeschool i couldn't," I replied. "That's too bad," Brooklyn said. Then Brooklyn leaned over to her left and whispered to Robin, "Hey, what is the story you're writing?" she asked. "Why do you want to know?" Robin said rudely. "That is why," Brooklyn said. Then Brooklyn leaned to me and said, "Stay away from Robin. She is grumpy." "Oh." I said. "Hey, Robin, are your parents' divorced?" "You don't want to know," she huffed. Her parents' were probably divorced. After school, I told mom about Robin. Now, i still don't trust mom much, but i do tell her what happens at school. "There is this girl named Robin in my class," I began. "Ah, yes Robin," Mom said. "Her mom is very nice." "W-What about her dad?" i asked. "Oh, they're divorced just like dad and i are," Mom said like it was no biggie. "Well, what about her?" "She is very grumpy. Brooklyn says i shouldn't play with her. But i think it's because her parents' are divorced," I said. "Brooklyn can't stop you from playing with Robin," Mom said. "But mom, Brooklyn is a good friend," i said. "Sense when are we talking about who is a good friend and who is not?" mom asked. "I don't know," I said, trying to sound brave. Mom was getting to the point where she might throw a fit. I did N-O-T, not want to get to that part. "Fine mom, take it this way. I'll make sure to be nice to Robin if she is nice to me, and if she is not, i will ignore her," I said to end this conversation. "Fine," Mom said. So, later, in the night, i lay awake in my bed thinking about tomorrow. There was going to be no school. I really, really wanted to go to school. i wanted really bad to figure out what was bothering Robin. I thought about how maybe Miss Carnie played the trumpet, or maybe not. It was a fifty-fifty chance. Yesterday she said she was going to play the trumpet, but she didn't. I was disappointed in her. I had never had a teacher whom played an instrument besides our music teacher, Mr. Logan. He was cheerful and happy, he never punished anybody, or made them have a kindergarten lesson. The classes he taught always played every single game he excepted them to play. If they didn't listen, he would make them sit out for one round to have an example of how to play. He was very generous. Okay, enough about Mr. Logan. Let's get back to the story.i fell asleep thirty minutes later, dreaming that i was at school, and a cat ran in our class. That seems boring, but it wasn't. It somehow turned Miss Carnie evil. Miss Carnie got red eyes. She puled out a gun out of her belt, and shot a bullet. I got hit, and woke up screaming. My mom ran into my room. "What's wrong, sweetie?" she asked worriedly. "I had a dream that-that Miss Carnie turned into a bad guy and puled out a gun and shot me-right in the neck with a riffle!" I said without taking one breath. "Oh, sweetheart!" Mom said. "I am so sorry!" I took a deep breath. I looked at the clock. "Two-twenty!" I said. "I must go back to sleep! Mom, can i sleep in your bed?" "Of course," Mom said. Maybe I don't like mom, but she sure loves me. No matter what, she says, she will always love me. As i brought my covers to mom's bed, i wondered how dad, might be married and have a ton of kids, forgetting me. That, i decided, would be bad. "Mom?" I said softly, still dazed from my thoughts. "Yes, sweetie?" Mom said. "I-I I really want to know about dad. How about eleven things?" I asked. Mom sighed. After a pause, she said, "Well, one: He has five kids named Carlos, Bree, Alex, Al, and Ayla. Two: He is married with Anna Tater. Three: he had brown hair like you do. Four: he loved you so. Five: He left because he didn't like me." Mom had tears in her eyes and then burst into tears and woke Mary up. Elizabeth was still sleeping peacefully. She had heard nothing. "Oh, mom!" I cried. "I am so sorry! Really! Why mom, why?" "I don't know!" Mom said through her tears. "Oh, mom! Oh, Mom !" I could not stop saying "Oh, mom!" i almost started crying i was sad for mom. Weeping, mom said "I don't like Anna Tater. Dad didn't like me. So he figured he should marry Anna Tater." "But mom, I want to visit dad," I said. "I do too," Mom said. "But I don't know even where that Matt Tater lives know." "Did he ever text you? I might be able to figure out where," I said hopefully. "Maybe," Mom said. "But we need so badly to go to sleep."
The next morning, late, I whispered to mom "How about six more things about dad?" "Really, i don't know any more except he had freckles and he did write a book," Mom said. "What's it called?" I asked, raising my voice. "What?" Mom said. In the night Mary had somehow crawled out of her crib and crawled in our bed and gave mom a good smack to the ear. "What's it called?" I repeated. "Oh. It's called Freckles and Decks," Mom said. "Seriously, that name?" I said. "Sure," Mom said. "He thought it was a good title." "Alright." Then we washed up, or I cleaned myself and mom cleaned herself and Mary-and then Elizabeth washed up. We were going to go maybe, somewhere special. We didn't know. I had on my skinny jeans and a blue ruffled shirt, and Mary had on a cute yellow dress, with her flower headband and a long sleeve. Mom was dressed in her nicest dress, which was a long red shiny dress, and her red diamond earrings. And Elizabeth, lastly, was dressed in a wool dress with a heart-shaped ruby necklace. Then mom grabbed her phone and found a text dad had sent her and said, "Here, Stacey. Search." So I did. I looked at the text. It read, "DEAR ALEXANDDRIA TATER, I LIVE IN C.A." The end. That was it. Huh, I thought. Then i said, "Wait, mom wait! I know where he lives! It's easy!" "What?" mom said. "It's simple. He put the letters 'C.A.' so he lives in L.A.!" I said. "What?" mom said. "Okay," I started. "So he wrote, 'Dear Alexanddria Tater, I live in C.A.' Why would he write C.A.? He could write California! Let's search!" "I don't think so, Stacey," Mom said. "Well, I do, and plus, I'll search," I said. "Okay," Mom said. So I got on Google Maps, and then asked mom; "What is dad's license plate?" I asked. Mom whispered it into my ear. "Okay," I said. L.A. I thought, Huh. How on Earth was I supposed to find where dad lived? Suddenly i had a good idea. I said, "Mom!" Mom came over. "What do you need?" she asked. "I have a good idea," I said. And, without letting mom speak, I added, "My idea is that I look all around, and find the license plate." I explained. "Oh." Mom sighed. "Oh, well." So on top, i wrote, "LA." Pop! Here came L.A. I searched and searched until i found a minivan with the license plate, "ALZ3478." That was dad's license plate! Oh, i was so happy! I looked at the address. Then i grabbed a pencil, a piece of paper, and wrote the street name, address, and the type of car and the license plate just in case. Of course, I showed it to mom. She did not think i would be able to find the license plate number easily. But, I had. I showed her. "Mom?" I said. "Can we now go to his house?" "No," Mom said. "Not until tomorrow." "But you made us dress up!" I said. "Oh, yes," Mom said. "It is only because we never do. Anyway, we are going to breakfast at a fancy place." I begged mom all morning to tell me what place we were going to. She wouldn't tell me. But, then she took us to it. It was called Hunan Kitchen. I knew just a few things about it because once in my homeschool class we were learning about restaurants and mom brought up Hunan Kitchen. But Mary, of course, hadn't, so she started making noises. "Ma! Boo! Boo!" Mary said. "Hush, Mary," I say.

Taylor and the lottery ticket

I was walking in the park, pushing my brother Luke in the stroller, when I remembered my mom wanted me home by noon so we could get tickets for a lottery.  So I went home. Mom was already in the car. "Ready yet?" she asked. "Sorry, but i am ready. Luke saw a loose dog and made me chase it," I said. "By the way, what   happens if we win the lottery?" Mom was strapping Luke in. "Ten million. you have to give ten million to the government," mom explained. "So...you get twenty million and give ten million to the government?" I asked. "Yep," mom replied. "What's the number you're picking?"  mom asked. "I'm doing 11234289760,"i said. "Where'd you get that?" mom asked. "I don't know. Just came up with it," I said truthfully. We were already there by then. It took twenty minutes, but we got tickets. Luke was crying and was hungry. "Were are going home already, baby boy," mom said, petting him like a dog. The next day, we crossed our fingers to win. I don't have a dad, so if we didn't win, my parents' probably would never be back together again. "...And the winner is...number 11234289760!" said a voice. "Taylor, that's you!" mom yelled excitedly. "You go!" I said. "I'm not going up there!" "Fine," mom said. "Take care of Luke."

So mom went up there and the crown applauded.  Once mom got there, the lady asked mom her name. "Rebecca Mesdag," mom replied.  "How is this going to change your life?"  asked the lady.  "Well, it's my daughter's ticket, but she was too shy to come up here because there are so many people here.  I think that my daughter would like to have a nice house, not too big.  maybe big enough for her to have her own bedroom.  Maybe another one that I can share with her brother.  Maybe a TV and a toy room."  mom said.  "That sounds like a good plan because a mansion might not leave you with enough money to decorate it and stuff.".  The lady spoke to mom a little bit more and went to get the check.  As she returned with a six foot large check, the lights dimmed.  Everybody started cheering widely and throwing their hats in the air.  Confetti, balloons and streamers dropped from the ceiling.  The lady then handed the check to mom.  It looked huge!  The check made mom look small! They brought the cheek home, after trying a million times to make it fit, and then mom asked me what I wanted to do with the money. "Do you want to get a new house?" mom asked. "No, I like our house. I think I'll put some in Luke and i's accounts for collage, give some for charity, and save the rest," I said. "Wha-! When did you want to do that!?!" mom exclaimed. "I'm not nuts," I said seriously.

"Well, I guess it is your decision," mom said.
"Mom I would like to give some of my money to what Luke has"
Mom replied, "Okay, do you want to give it to the people that study it?"
"Okay, that it what I was going to say.  Oh, and mom, how do you say that thing that Luke has anyway?"
"Eosinophilic esophagitis.  I'm not sure who we should give it to, but maybe we should ask Luke's doctors in San Diego."
"Like Dr. Martin?"
"Sure," mom said.
We did everything, and we were exhausted. It was only six PM, but mom was so tired that we called for some Chinese food. mom was tired and couldn't barely open her eyes. our Chinese food arrived at 6:30. Mom barely was awake enough to feed Luke. She had put him to bed. Luke's lucky, i thought, thinking how Luke didn't know what was happening. He didn't get tired or exhausted. He was so lucky. Well, I thought, at least we got it over with. Mom was done with her food and so was I. I usually go to bed at 8:00, but I went to bed right away. In the morning it was better.

Uncle Ryan.

Yesterday my uncle came over.  We call him Uncle Ryan.  He lets us play on his phone.  We like to play Sonic Dash, a game on his phone.  It's fun to play.  He went to dinner with our cousins.  We went too. Our cousin's names are Emmett and Kai.  My brother plays ninjago with them. I don't play. It's boring to me.

Legos

My brother and I have tons of Legos.  We have three ninjago guys.  We have two black guys, and the blue guy.  We build cool stuff out of our Legos.  We have a ton of stuff to build out of.  We have so much people.  And we have a shark and two dinosaurs.  We built a Lego city.  It's fun because my brother helps me build a lot of stuff.  We have a motorcycle and two race cars.  Other than that, we don't have much more stuff but pieces of Legos to build with.

Nerf Gun.

My brother got a new nerf gun.  It holds twenty-five bullets.  You don't have to cock it.  It needs special bullets.  It can use other bullets, but the special bullets are better.  It is awesome.  I think I'm going to get one, I don't know.  I don't really like or play with nerf guns.  But some girls have nerf guns.  Like Cammy, she lives in my neighborhood, and maybe Tegan and Kate.  They both live in my neighborhood.  If I get the nerf gun, it won't be a long time until I do.  I don't know why.  End.

Ted

This is Ted the crog.  A crog is a frog and dog mixed together.  Ted eats dogfood, and hops on lilypads. Ted loves to cuddle.  Ted has a special spot in the yard.  It's right under the tree, where the leaves fall.  It's also the sunniest part of the yard.  I always or usually, lay down a blanket.  If I rake the leaves, Ted jumps in them.  Then I have to rake them again and again until I have to yell for Ted to stop about a million times.  Ted has a friend named Zeeky.  We call him Zeek, or sometimes Z.  Z loves the same things that Ted likes.  He will do anythign Ted does.

Visit

Last night my grandparents came.  I call my grandma Po Po because she likes being called that.  It sounds cool to me.  Today they walked with us today. My neighborhood has a LOT of kids.  Let's see…let me count…twelve kids not counting me.  Or my brother.  A lot of kids have nerf guns.  Nerf guns aren't real guns, of course.  They are fake guns.  Teagan, a girl in my neighborhood, comes in my house sometimes.

Joshua Tree

Three years ago I went camping in Joshua Tree with my family.  There was a lot of rocks.  It looked like a fort so my brother Caden and I went to explore.  It was like a fort.  After some chicken soup we toasted marshmallows and we made s'mores.  Then we set up our sleeping bags and went to sleep.  In the morning I had to go to the bathroom in a honey bucket.  Yuck!

Pluots

The first time I ate a pluot, I wanted a second one.  A pluot is a plum and an apricot mixed together.  It looks like a plum and tastes like a plum.  The first time I ate a pluot was when we were looking at my grandma's new house in Oregon City.  Her house has four acres.  Two barns, one that used to have cows.  Grandma is going to rip out the carpet, put in floor and I think she is going to repaint some stuff. My grandpa might build a treehouse for us.  They have an apple tree, I think.  They have two dogs named Toby and Lucy who are poodles.  Lucy is the mother of Toby.  Lucy had two other pups, but they don't like big dogs very much.

Mary

One day a girl named Mary was surfing, and then she spotted a big, giant wave.  Mary tried to surf faster.  She couldn't.  But then she saw a rescue boat.  She yelled, "Help! Help!" The boat driver heard her and helped her aboard.  She said, "thanks" and then she went up to the room and laid on the bed in her wetsuit.  She had dried off so she went under the covers.  She was shivering when she remembered a serious problem.  She did not know if they had her surf board.  Even though she was still shivering, she ran down to the main area, seeing if she could see her surf board.  She did see it.  Thank goodness! She had rented that surfboard.

Rambutan

In Costa Rica, I ate Rambutan. It's a red rich fruit, with little spikes on it.

It's really sweet, like I said.  It has a white inside, and a brown seed.

The seed is big.  The inside is juicy.  It is hard to peel but it's worth it.

Manerva

I am Manerva the cat. It was Halloween, and I was wondering about, and I saw a pond. Let me back up. It was just a plain pond. Oddly enough, the pond had a big rock with a poem that said, "On a Holloween night, old miss Daisy will come, run, and..." And then it stopped. It was odd. I couldn't help wondering if that was a secret poem. I jumped to get a closer look. The date read, "1824" on it. It was written in rusty letters. i was scared, at the same time excited. i wondered if i could jump to it without getting a speak of water on me. then, if i could, i would make a wish. i saw some tall rocks in the water. i jumped from one to another, making sure i didn't get wet. i reached the big rock. it was vary narrow. i put my paw on it. i made a wish to have food and water. and it came true! i ate so much food!

Bunny

One day I was walking and I saw a bunny.  It said, "do you know where the carrots are"   I was shocked.  But I did say, "uhhhh…" I couldn't get to say, "Come with me."

Bellingham

My mom and dad and my brother went to Bellingham.  We had rented a house.  I had my own bedroom, with a big bed.  Same as my brother Caden's.  Our cousins came.  We had fun.  Then it was my brother's birthday.  He had a chocolate cake with candy canes, junior mints and mint frosting.  It was yummy.  Then we had to go to bed.  Eli, our cousin was going to stay the night, but then he didn't want to.  I forget.  We had pizza for dinner.

Mark Small

Hi, my name is Mark and I am a male dog, as you can see. I was walking with my owner, Rachel Veliź. She was walking me down Park street, a quiet neighborhood. She was looking at a flower she had never seen before. She was like, “Blah blah blah blah blah!” She accidently let go of my leash and I started to run so fast partly because I was let of standing right in the same spot. Rachel ran after me.  I start chasing my tail.  But then I did realize that Rachel was chasing me.  I hadn’t realized it before so I think I might have started to run faster. Rachel said something else like, “Mark! Blah blah blah!” Of course, I can only understand a few words in English like my name, sit, twist, paw and roll over.  I had to admit, I was a bit nervous of Rachel catching me but at the same time I was pretty hungry.  I wanted a bacon muffin!  That’s a muffin that is really good to me because it has bacon.  Rachel gets it for me when Rachel’s mom takes her to Club K.  Rachel doesn’t get one for herself because she thinks it is pretty disgusting but I am a dog.  Rachel actually did catch me because she does keep emergency nets to catch me because I have run off a lot of times.  She took me home and did not give me a treat when I was supposed to have one.  My treat is like regular treats that aren’t as good as bacon muffins.  When we got home I ate my whole dog food bowl but was still hungry because my treat is very filling like oatmeal is filling for humans.

Mia

Mia left the house. It was the afternoon, and Mia Zimmerman had a plan for the MGC. MGC meant “Math Girls Club”. She walked over to Lizzy Bean’s house and instantly she saw her friends: Lizzy, and Emma. “What’s 48 divided by 2?” Emma asked Mia as she walked in. “Hmmmm,” Mia thought. “Ohhh, I know! It’s 24!” The MGC was a good club. Each girl had at least one calculate, a note pad, a tag member ship, a lap top, a phone, pencils, a desk to work at and much more. The MGC had a ton of money. If you want to know, the person who is the boss in the club is Mia. In fact, when the club started, one of Mia’s rules was that the club would get somebody to teach their kids math. That’s how the MGC got money. But now, the club had no more jobs because the club needed no money. “Hey, Lizz! What is 72 divided by 2?” asked Mia. Mia was the boss because she was the smartest. Oh, let me tell you something, reader. The club was arranged by Bella, a girl in the class. Bella had asked each girl in the class if they wanted to be in the club. 9 said no, even Bella. “36. Why me?” said Lizzy.  “Because now you ask me something,” Emma said. “Okay. Why me?”  Lizzy asked again. All the girls cracked up-well not Emma.  “Not that kind of something! A math question!” Emma said all mad and her voice sounded mad, to me. “Okay, whatever. 78 divided by 2,” Lizzy was not in a good mood. “Ha ha. Easy. 39,” Emma was almost as smart as Mia. Mia knew that Lizzy and Emma might be enemy’s. Mia also was the kind of girl who loved math, reading and school. One day, Mia asked Emma if she didn’t like Lizzy. She said no and I knew it from then on. Another day, Timmy Tammy stared a club called “The Boys’ Business Club”. What an awful name. But, oh no! All of the boys said yes except Hon Con and Fong Miger. Mr. Answer said that the most popular club in 4th grade would get $1,000 a year. I mean the club would get $1,000 every two years for 6 years. That’s a lot of money. The 9 girls in the class started a “I know everything” club. And a chunk of boys’ started a “Boys’ basketball” club. More girls came into our club.  So that’s me, Emma, Lizzy, Monica, Bri, and Helena. That’s 6 in the club now.  My dad, Mr. Zimmerman even bilt a real clubhouse for us. Oh, there is also a sewing club. Our vice principal, Miss Patty, said that the 4th grade classes to go to the club room. It used to be the speech room, but then our principal, Mrs. Tina fired the speech teacher because Bella and other kids started forming clubs and our school needed a room for that and all. I thought. The boys’ clubs had a good chance of winning. Why do I say that? Because every boy in 4th grade wants to be in the boys’ club. Mia called a group meeting. “We need to get in shape!” I said. “Does anybody have an idea?” “Oh, oh! I do!” said Helena and Monica at the same time. “Okay, what is it Monica?” I asked. “I know this girl named Beca,” said Monica. “She has great ideas. Maybe she can help.” Beca, huh?” Bri said sounding vary board. “Odd. Is Beca in 6th grade and have a last name something like Tiplog-whatever?” asked Lizzy. “Uh, yes, indeed,” said Monica. “How about we do that, Mi-a?” said Helena. “Don’t call me Mi-a! Or you’ll be out of the club!” Mia said madly. The days went by, and finally Mrs. Patty told all the classes to go to the clubs room. “And the winner is…” Mrs. Tina said. “The Math Girls Club! Congratulations girls!”  “Boo!” went the boys. “Yay!” went the girls. That means…… they won! Wow! Talk about good luck! The girls were soooo happy.

The End

Emma

Emma Valdez packed up her bag and went outside to wait for the bus. It was a Monday, and Emma met up with her best friend, Callie Lodge in the bus. “Hey! Callie! Guess what!” Emma said. “Okay. I give up. Tell,” Callie said. “You know Brooklyn Zimmerman?” I happen to know she has no dad!” I was sitting down, and Callie was standing up. “No! It can’t be true!” she said. “Sit down, will you?” I asked. “Sure,” was Callie’s reply and then she sat down. When Callie and I were walking to our class, Brooklyn and her mean pals fallowed her. By the way, Brooklyn is very wealthy. “Emma dear, Callie dear, I need you to carry my books or I’ll be late,” Brooklyn said in a bossy way. Callie spoke up. “Never, at least not now or I’ll be late, too.” I could tell she was mad. We walked to Mrs. Victoria’s classroom, and it looked very different. Well, the only different part was that instead of chairs, there were beanbags! To sit on! Cool! There was also no desks but there were notebooks to write on. This is so cool, I thought. Mrs. Victoria walked in. “Why are there beanbags Mrs. Victoria?” asked this boy in the class called Ron. “Why? Kids, the beanbags are for sitting on, by golly!” Mrs. Victoria said loudly so everybody could hear. The day was slow. I met with Callie and Brooklyn at lunch.  My friend Tia and her sister Helena met up, too.  Brooklyn went to buy lunch. “Guys, let’s start a club. A cupcake club!” I whispered. “Emma, we should do it!” Callie whispered back. “Meet me at my house tomorrow. We can have a meeting,” I thought what we needed for the club. So the rest of the day, I made aprons for the gang. At 7:30 I finished sewing the aprons. It said: The cupcake club. And it had the girls’ names on it. Like one would say: Emma Valdez, or something like that. But not the something part, of course. The next day was Sunday. Sunday sounds like “Sun day” to me. English is weird the way we speak it. Callie, Tia and Helena walked into the house at noon. Mrs. Valdez gave the girls there aprons. Callie asked, “Did you make these Mrs. Valdez? There so pretty.” “No, I did not make them. Emma did,” Mrs. Valdez replied. “Is that true Emma?” asked Tia. “Yes, it is,” I said. I think Callie liked the aprons the most. Then Brooklyn rang the doorbell. Oh, no. What would she do? I opened the door. Brooklyn said as she walked in: “Where’s my apron?” Double oh, no. “Uh… well I don’t see one,” I said honestly. “Will you sew me one?” Brooklyn asked. I didn’t want her in the club. She’s too bossy. And mean. I didn’t know what to say or do. But Tia spoke up. “Oh, Miss Brooklyn. We can’t. Miss Brooklyn, you know, it takes a lot of work to sew an apron. You should try it and see.” Wow! I thought. Tia is usually shy. But today no.” N-O spells no,” Brooklyn said. “But I’m leaving. So ta-ta.” “Tia! Thank you so much!” I said. “Thanks,” she said. I told everybody that we were going to make chocolate, and red velvet with caramel to see if this club was going to work out. Then I told them we would sell the cupcakes for 1.00 each. Helena was good at math, so if we made twenty of each, that would be… lets see… 40.00, but  00.50 for frosting. They would make 20.00. 20.00?!! They needed more than 20.00. “We need more than 20.00!” I said. “Maybe I could sell stories,” Callie said. “One page stories. They could cost 5.00 if there were twenty stories.” “Okay,” I smiled. Callie is such a good friend. Callie made stories like, The frog, The owl howl, The dog bark, The four eyed dog and Moving Perry. Callie made copies instead of new stories. What good thinking, I thought. Callie made twenty copies, and we sold everything. In total they made 120.00. Wow! Thanks to Callie they made 100.00 extra dollars. “Oh, Callie, thanks so much! You are a true friend!” I said. The days went by, and the club got better. But when Emma heard Callie was moving to Alaska, she nearly cried. Callie did, too. Callie moved to Alaska, but they still kept in touch. Oh, poor Emma and Callie! BFFs [that means Callie and Emma] that moved away from each other! Crazy! Now I must go. To take a rest! Bye-Bye!
