"Class, this is Stacey McGill, and she is going to be in our class," My new teacher, Miss Carnie, said. "Not another!" this mean boy said, and his name was Shon B. "Shon Bolger!" Miss Carnie said in her strict voice. "Come up here right now!" "Y-yes miss Carnie," stammered Shon B. He slowly walked up to her desk. "You must apologize! Stacey may be new, but you don't have a right to say that, you may think it, but not blurt it! That was very rude," Miss Carnie's voice faded away. "Say you're sorry," she whispered. "No, Miss Carnie, he doesn't have to. I once did, and in front of twenty-four kids, it is embarasing and un-inportment," i said. "Well, you may say sorry, and go back to your seat. I shall change where you sit next to Stacey, so you aren't mean to her," Miss Carnie said. "Sorry, Stacey," Shon B. said. "Now, Shon, you must sit next to the open desk. Stacey, you sit at the open desk," Miss Carnie said. "But ma'am, i want to sit next to Brooklyn. I know her," i said. "Okay," miss Carnie said. "Brooklyn, go move to the two open desks. Stacey, go with her."As Broooklyn and I walked to the two open seats, I thought that how my parents' were divorced, and how sad it made me. But by then we had already reached the open desks. I took the one on the right. At writing time, i wrote about when my dad left me. I wrote, "When i was little, my dad left me. He didn't even leave a picture of himself. it makes me sad to think about it. My momma is strict sometimes. I hardly remember, but i was closer to my dad. my mom made me leave New York city and forced me to go to skip a grade. She made me. i did not want to be in 5th grade. i had heard terrible remarks about Shon B. My dad ran off to California. Mom and i are living in Utah. I have only one sister. Her name is Elizabeth. She is in 7h grade. She will soon be going to collage. Then i will be lonely. Suddenly i wrote a note to Brooklyn about how my dad ran off to California. Brooklyn wrote back, "I understand. My mom did that." And then writing was over.We lined up for recess. I waited for Brooklyn on the swings. She ran right up to the swing i had saved for her and jumped on. "Hey," i said. "Yeah?" Brooklyn answered. "Uh...are your parents' divorced?" I asked. "Yes...but my dad married some other girl named Penny Pocket." Brooklyn hung her head. "Do you like Penny?" i asked. "No..at least not very much. She's strict. She doesn't let me drink coke," Brooklyn said. "Oh. Hey, I'm really sad my dad left me. He didn't leave a thing of his own," i said. "Yeah, same with my mom. She only left a spoon she used worth 5 dollars," Brooklyn said. By now we were already high, high, high. Brooklyn wanted to play a math game. "You like math?" I asked. "Why not?" Brooklyn asked. "It's fun, I mean, maybe you don't like math, but in 5th grade math is hard and I don't like being challenged but I'm used to it because school has already been going for, I don't know, a couple of months or something, and you are new here, so maybe you'll start to like math. Because, like, the teachers force you to do it or they call the principal to come and watch you do your math. They are really strict here so you have to do your math."
"Well, what kind of math game is it?"
"It's called Bingo math."
"How do you play?"
"So, I think of two numbers, you have to add them or you have to multiply them and then if you get five things in a row without getting them wrong, you get a bingo and then, um, if you get ten right, you get a blackout. Blackouts are best because you fill the whole chart." But then the recess bell rang. So we lined up, went inside and Miss Carnie said, "we're gonna have some more writing time. I understand that Stacey likes to write. She is still writing a story."
"How do you know?' I asked Miss Carnie
"I come around and looked at peoples' work every Friday. On all the other week days I call it 'Journal Write' - you have to write in your journal. I don't come around and look at your journal because you share it with the class." Miss Carnie said.
"Okay, so Friday free write and all the other days are journal write?' I asked. "Yes. Next monday, you will start a new story, write, and make it into a book about your life. It has to have a title, at least twenty pages, and and end. It has to have 5,000 words. I know that might seem like a lot, but we type the story on a computer. It is easier," Miss Carnie said. "I get it," i said. And believe me, I did understand. "We're going to start writing now, class," Miss Carnie said. I read my story. When i was little, my dad left me. He didn't even leave a picture of himself. It makes me sad to think about. She is in 7th grade. She will soon be in collage. Then i will be lonely. Then I wrote, I really don't want to be lonely. Before i even knew Elizabeth was part of the family, and after dad had left, I had felt lonely. My mom was not a big joy when i was five. Then i noticed that Elizabeth was always home at 2:10. In my mind, she suddenly became part of the family. She was fun to play with. After i was done homeschooling, i would run to the door and wait for Elizabeth. I would watch out the window when the yellow school bus flashed before my eyes, i would run outside, wave at Elizabeth and jump. When we had to pick up Elizabeth from school, i would jump around excitedly. Elizabeth was the one i trusted the most. I didn't trust mom very much. i don't know why. Probably because dad had left us and i blamed mom. I was home schooled until 3rd grade when mom made me skip 4th grade. I did not want to. I was forced to. But, as usual, it was a no, you may not be in 4th grade. my mom thinks I'm super smart, but i'm not so smart. But i do get to sit next to Brooklyn Crystal in class. Then we had math test. i got two answers wrong, and there was thirty questions. It was one of those one-minute pages. "Who knows how to spell contagious or necessary?" Miss Carnie asked. I raised my hand. "Stacey?" Miss Carnie said. "You want to try?" "Yes," I said quickly. "Contagious. C-o-n-t-a-g-i-o-u-s. Necessary. N-e-c-e-s-s-a-r-y." "Right," Miss Carnie said. "I know it is early, but we are going to have a spelling test and then lunch." A little while later, when we were seated and had a paper and pencil, Miss Carnie gave us spelling words. "Number one," she said. "Process." We all wrote "Process." "Number two. Opportunity." We scribbled that down. "Three. Succumb,"Miss Carnie said. We wrote that. "Four. Combustible. Five. Inquisitive," Miss Carnie said. "That's all for today." Miss Carnie collected our papers and said, "For the next thirty minutes, we will have lunch. I will dismiss people who look ready." She called out some names and then said quietly, "I will play my trumpet." "Yeah!" everybody yelled. I was getting school lunch. It was taco tuesday. I get school lunch. Brooklyn calls it hot lunch and home lunch cold lunch. Today i got a taco with chess and meat, with chocolate milk and some watermelon. Brooklyn gets cold lunch. Today i saw she got a P-B and J sandwich and banana a nut bar. Nobody in my class that i know of has allergies. Only Cammie. She is very rude. Once i played with her, and she yelled in my ear that she had an allergy and i told her that i already knew, and then she screamed at me again. My mom almost made me have a playdate with her until i was repeating over and over again that she yells in my face. Then mom agreed to not make a playdate with Cammie. "Brooklyn!" I said. "What?" she said. "Can you talk in the classroom at lunch or snack?" i asked. "Sure," Brooklyn said. "Why?" "Because in my homeschool i couldn't," I replied. "That's too bad," Brooklyn said. Then Brooklyn leaned over to her left and whispered to Robin, "Hey, what is the story you're writing?" she asked. "Why do you want to know?" Robin said rudely. "That is why," Brooklyn said. Then Brooklyn leaned to me and said, "Stay away from Robin. She is grumpy." "Oh." I said. "Hey, Robin, are your parents' divorced?" "You don't want to know," she huffed. Her parents' were probably divorced. After school, I told mom about Robin. Now, i still don't trust mom much, but i do tell her what happens at school. "There is this girl named Robin in my class," I began. "Ah, yes Robin," Mom said. "Her mom is very nice." "W-What about her dad?" i asked. "Oh, they're divorced just like dad and i are," Mom said like it was no biggie. "Well, what about her?" "She is very grumpy. Brooklyn says i shouldn't play with her. But i think it's because her parents' are divorced," I said. "Brooklyn can't stop you from playing with Robin," Mom said. "But mom, Brooklyn is a good friend," i said. "Sense when are we talking about who is a good friend and who is not?" mom asked. "I don't know," I said, trying to sound brave. Mom was getting to the point where she might throw a fit. I did N-O-T, not want to get to that part. "Fine mom, take it this way. I'll make sure to be nice to Robin if she is nice to me, and if she is not, i will ignore her," I said to end this conversation. "Fine," Mom said. So, later, in the night, i lay awake in my bed thinking about tomorrow. There was going to be no school. I really, really wanted to go to school. i wanted really bad to figure out what was bothering Robin. I thought about how maybe Miss Carnie played the trumpet, or maybe not. It was a fifty-fifty chance. Yesterday she said she was going to play the trumpet, but she didn't. I was disappointed in her. I had never had a teacher whom played an instrument besides our music teacher, Mr. Logan. He was cheerful and happy, he never punished anybody, or made them have a kindergarten lesson. The classes he taught always played every single game he excepted them to play. If they didn't listen, he would make them sit out for one round to have an example of how to play. He was very generous. Okay, enough about Mr. Logan. Let's get back to the story.i fell asleep thirty minutes later, dreaming that i was at school, and a cat ran in our class. That seems boring, but it wasn't. It somehow turned Miss Carnie evil. Miss Carnie got red eyes. She puled out a gun out of her belt, and shot a bullet. I got hit, and woke up screaming. My mom ran into my room. "What's wrong, sweetie?" she asked worriedly. "I had a dream that-that Miss Carnie turned into a bad guy and puled out a gun and shot me-right in the neck with a riffle!" I said without taking one breath. "Oh, sweetheart!" Mom said. "I am so sorry!" I took a deep breath. I looked at the clock. "Two-twenty!" I said. "I must go back to sleep! Mom, can i sleep in your bed?" "Of course," Mom said. Maybe I don't like mom, but she sure loves me. No matter what, she says, she will always love me. As i brought my covers to mom's bed, i wondered how dad, might be married and have a ton of kids, forgetting me. That, i decided, would be bad. "Mom?" I said softly, still dazed from my thoughts. "Yes, sweetie?" Mom said. "I-I I really want to know about dad. How about eleven things?" I asked. Mom sighed. After a pause, she said, "Well, one: He has five kids named Carlos, Bree, Alex, Al, and Ayla. Two: He is married with Anna Tater. Three: he had brown hair like you do. Four: he loved you so. Five: He left because he didn't like me." Mom had tears in her eyes and then burst into tears and woke Mary up. Elizabeth was still sleeping peacefully. She had heard nothing. "Oh, mom!" I cried. "I am so sorry! Really! Why mom, why?" "I don't know!" Mom said through her tears. "Oh, mom! Oh, Mom !" I could not stop saying "Oh, mom!" i almost started crying i was sad for mom. Weeping, mom said "I don't like Anna Tater. Dad didn't like me. So he figured he should marry Anna Tater." "But mom, I want to visit dad," I said. "I do too," Mom said. "But I don't know even where that Matt Tater lives know." "Did he ever text you? I might be able to figure out where," I said hopefully. "Maybe," Mom said. "But we need so badly to go to sleep."
The next morning, late, I whispered to mom "How about six more things about dad?" "Really, i don't know any more except he had freckles and he did write a book," Mom said. "What's it called?" I asked, raising my voice. "What?" Mom said. In the night Mary had somehow crawled out of her crib and crawled in our bed and gave mom a good smack to the ear. "What's it called?" I repeated. "Oh. It's called Freckles and Decks," Mom said. "Seriously, that name?" I said. "Sure," Mom said. "He thought it was a good title." "Alright." Then we washed up, or I cleaned myself and mom cleaned herself and Mary-and then Elizabeth washed up. We were going to go maybe, somewhere special. We didn't know. I had on my skinny jeans and a blue ruffled shirt, and Mary had on a cute yellow dress, with her flower headband and a long sleeve. Mom was dressed in her nicest dress, which was a long red shiny dress, and her red diamond earrings. And Elizabeth, lastly, was dressed in a wool dress with a heart-shaped ruby necklace. Then mom grabbed her phone and found a text dad had sent her and said, "Here, Stacey. Search." So I did. I looked at the text. It read, "DEAR ALEXANDDRIA TATER, I LIVE IN C.A." The end. That was it. Huh, I thought. Then i said, "Wait, mom wait! I know where he lives! It's easy!" "What?" mom said. "It's simple. He put the letters 'C.A.' so he lives in L.A.!" I said. "What?" mom said. "Okay," I started. "So he wrote, 'Dear Alexanddria Tater, I live in C.A.' Why would he write C.A.? He could write California! Let's search!" "I don't think so, Stacey," Mom said. "Well, I do, and plus, I'll search," I said. "Okay," Mom said. So I got on Google Maps, and then asked mom; "What is dad's license plate?" I asked. Mom whispered it into my ear. "Okay," I said. L.A. I thought, Huh. How on Earth was I supposed to find where dad lived? Suddenly i had a good idea. I said, "Mom!" Mom came over. "What do you need?" she asked. "I have a good idea," I said. And, without letting mom speak, I added, "My idea is that I look all around, and find the license plate." I explained. "Oh." Mom sighed. "Oh, well." So on top, i wrote, "LA." Pop! Here came L.A. I searched and searched until i found a minivan with the license plate, "ALZ3478." That was dad's license plate! Oh, i was so happy! I looked at the address. Then i grabbed a pencil, a piece of paper, and wrote the street name, address, and the type of car and the license plate just in case. Of course, I showed it to mom. She did not think i would be able to find the license plate number easily. But, I had. I showed her. "Mom?" I said. "Can we now go to his house?" "No," Mom said. "Not until tomorrow." "But you made us dress up!" I said. "Oh, yes," Mom said. "It is only because we never do. Anyway, we are going to breakfast at a fancy place." I begged mom all morning to tell me what place we were going to. She wouldn't tell me. But, then she took us to it. It was called Hunan Kitchen. I knew just a few things about it because once in my homeschool class we were learning about restaurants and mom brought up Hunan Kitchen. But Mary, of course, hadn't, so she started making noises. "Ma! Boo! Boo!" Mary said. "Hush, Mary," I say.

Taylor and the lottery ticket
I was walking in the park, pushing my brother Luke in the stroller, when I remembered my mom wanted me home by noon so we could get tickets for a lottery. So I went home. Mom was already in the car. "Ready yet?" she asked. "Sorry, but i am ready. Luke saw a loose dog and made me chase it," I said. "By the way, what happens if we win the lottery?" Mom was strapping Luke in. "Ten million. you have to give ten million to the government," mom explained. "So...you get twenty million and give ten million to the government?" I asked. "Yep," mom replied. "What's the number you're picking?" mom asked. "I'm doing 11234289760,"i said. "Where'd you get that?" mom asked. "I don't know. Just came up with it," I said truthfully. We were already there by then. It took twenty minutes, but we got tickets. Luke was crying and was hungry. "Were are going home already, baby boy," mom said, petting him like a dog. The next day, we crossed our fingers to win. I don't have a dad, so if we didn't win, my parents' probably would never be back together again. "...And the winner is...number 11234289760!" said a voice. "Taylor, that's you!" mom yelled excitedly. "You go!" I said. "I'm not going up there!" "Fine," mom said. "Take care of Luke."
So mom went up there and the crown applauded. Once mom got there, the lady asked mom her name. "Rebecca Mesdag," mom replied. "How is this going to change your life?" asked the lady. "Well, it's my daughter's ticket, but she was too shy to come up here because there are so many people here. I think that my daughter would like to have a nice house, not too big. maybe big enough for her to have her own bedroom. Maybe another one that I can share with her brother. Maybe a TV and a toy room." mom said. "That sounds like a good plan because a mansion might not leave you with enough money to decorate it and stuff.". The lady spoke to mom a little bit more and went to get the check. As she returned with a six foot large check, the lights dimmed. Everybody started cheering widely and throwing their hats in the air. Confetti, balloons and streamers dropped from the ceiling. The lady then handed the check to mom. It looked huge! The check made mom look small! They brought the cheek home, after trying a million times to make it fit, and then mom asked me what I wanted to do with the money. "Do you want to get a new house?" mom asked. "No, I like our house. I think I'll put some in Luke and i's accounts for collage, give some for charity, and save the rest," I said. "Wha-! When did you want to do that!?!" mom exclaimed. "I'm not nuts," I said seriously.
"Well, I guess it is your decision," mom said.
"Mom I would like to give some of my money to what Luke has"
Mom replied, "Okay, do you want to give it to the people that study it?"
"Okay, that it what I was going to say. Oh, and mom, how do you say that thing that Luke has anyway?"
"Eosinophilic esophagitis. I'm not sure who we should give it to, but maybe we should ask Luke's doctors in San Diego."
"Like Dr. Martin?"
"Sure," mom said.
We did everything, and we were exhausted. It was only six PM, but mom was so tired that we called for some Chinese food. mom was tired and couldn't barely open her eyes. our Chinese food arrived at 6:30. Mom barely was awake enough to feed Luke. She had put him to bed. Luke's lucky, i thought, thinking how Luke didn't know what was happening. He didn't get tired or exhausted. He was so lucky. Well, I thought, at least we got it over with. Mom was done with her food and so was I. I usually go to bed at 8:00, but I went to bed right away. In the morning it was better.

Legos
My brother and I have tons of Legos. We have three ninjago guys. We have two black guys, and the blue guy. We build cool stuff out of our Legos. We have a ton of stuff to build out of. We have so much people. And we have a shark and two dinosaurs. We built a Lego city. It's fun because my brother helps me build a lot of stuff. We have a motorcycle and two race cars. Other than that, we don't have much more stuff but pieces of Legos to build with.

Nerf Gun.
My brother got a new nerf gun. It holds twenty-five bullets. You don't have to cock it. It needs special bullets. It can use other bullets, but the special bullets are better. It is awesome. I think I'm going to get one, I don't know. I don't really like or play with nerf guns. But some girls have nerf guns. Like Cammy, she lives in my neighborhood, and maybe Tegan and Kate. They both live in my neighborhood. If I get the nerf gun, it won't be a long time until I do. I don't know why. End.
